Celebrating new beginnings at Clarkson College

As demand for healthcare professionals continues to grow across Nebraska, Clarkson College unveiled a series of campus improvements designed to enhance student learning, support healthcare innovation, and strengthen the state's future workforce.

Omaha Mayor John Ewing joined Andreia Nebel, EdD, president and CEO of Clarkson College, to cut the ribbon on a new Welcome Center, renovated learning spaces, and a new courtyard at Clarkson College on Sept. 21.

"These improvements are about far more than buildings," said Dr. Nebel. "They represent an investment in the students who will become Nebraska's future nurses, imaging professionals, healthcare leaders, and other critical members of the healthcare workforce."

As it has for decades, Clarkson College currently serves more than 1,170 degree-seeking students and more than 7,000 community learners annually, helping address workforce needs across nursing, allied health, healthcare business, and leadership.

It is an important step for the future of Clarkson College. The institution, which began in 1888 as the first nursing college in the state of Nebraska, is nationally known for many of its programs, including the Nurse Anesthesia program, the Physical Therapist Assistant program, and its 3D Printing and Training Center of Excellence.

New and Renovated Campus Buildings

The new Welcome Center will serve as an inviting space to greet students, faculty, staff, and visitors to Clarkson College.

The renovated Physical Therapist Assistant laboratory provides students with expanded opportunities for hands-on training, preparing graduates to enter a profession that plays a growing role in rehabilitation and recovery services across the country.

Our nationally known 3D Printing and Training Center of Excellence team is now working in a completely renovated area, allowing the center to expand collaboration with clinicians and healthcare organizations, advancing patient care through innovative medical modeling, simulation, and training.

An ornamental arch is now a focal point in the south entrance of the campus courtyard, serving as the entry to an expanded Clarkson Service League Heritage Garden that includes a green space and a memorial garden.

A special gathering space, known as the “Link,” connects each building on campus, allowing users to safely navigate in an enclosed space. The Link includes study space for students, gathering areas for special events, and a tribute to donors.

The investment comes as Clarkson College graduates continue to have an immediate impact on the region's healthcare workforce. Nearly all graduates remain in Nebraska and southwest Iowa, and the college reports a 100% job placement rate.
