Clarkson College named a "2026 Great College to Work For"

Clarkson College named a “2026 Great College to Work For”
This honor puts Clarkson College in elite company.

Clarkson College is one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, according to the Great Colleges to Work For® program.

The results, released Sept. 18 in a special insert of The Chronicle of Higher Education, are based on a survey of 171 colleges and universities. In all, 76 of those institutions achieved “Great College to Work For” recognition for specific best practices and policies. Results are reported for small, medium, and large institutions, with Clarkson College included among small universities with 500 to 2,999 students.

In addition, Clarkson College was one of 42 colleges that earned special distinction as an Honor Roll institution. The Honor Roll designation is awarded to the top 10 four-year colleges and top 4 two-year colleges in each size group.

Clarkson College won honors in six of the 10 categories this year:

  • Job satisfaction and support
  • Compensation and benefits
  • Professional development
  • Confidence in senior leadership
  • Shared governance
  • Faculty experience

This was the seventh year Clarkson College participated in the program and the fifth consecutive year earning recognition.

“I’ve said it for many years, and will continue to say, we have the best employees committed to Clarkson College,” says Andreia Nebel, EdD, president and CEO of Clarkson College. “It gives me great pride to earn this recognition, and it demonstrates our faculty and staff believe in the work they do and know how much of a difference they make in the lives of our students and the communities we serve.”

The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institution questionnaire that captures employment data and workplace policies from each institution, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators, and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition is the employee feedback.

“There is no one secret to being a great workplace, but there are common attributes among the best: a clear vision, meaningful work, growth opportunities, a culture of respect, and a sense of community,” says Richard K. Boyer, chief culture strategist at ModernThink. “This year’s recognized institutions survive and thrive in challenging times because of their commitment to the fundamentals.”
