Family Nurse Practitioner Option Ranked #3 in the Nation

The Clarkson College Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) option ranked #3 on NursePractitioner’sOnline.com’s list of top online FNP program options in the nation and is the only school in Nebraska to make the list.

The Clarkson College program option is designed to help Bachelor’s degree-prepared nurses become nurse practitioners with  greater autonomy and increased leadership opportunities. FNPs also have the opportunity to offer more in-depth and comprehensive care compared to RNs.

Throughout the curriculum, students learn evidence-based advanced nursing skills that will equip them to provide a higher level of care for individuals and families in a primary care setting. Theory coursework is available 100 percent online, and one on-campus visit is required for the clinical portion of the program. Students can choose full- or part-time options and enroll in courses in the spring, summer or fall.

The organization ranks accredited online programs based on the following factors:

  1. The diversity of nurse practitioner programs offered
  2. Accreditation status
  3. Years of experience/tenure of faculty
  4. Annual tuition/fees in relation to the local cost of living
  5. The size of the institution’s nursing department
  6. Acceptance rate and competitiveness of the institution
  7. Graduation/completion rate
