Medical, Dental, Pharmacy and More: New Community Health Option Prepares You for Professional Role

Clarkson College is launching a new Bachelor’s degree in Community Health - Pre-Health Professional track designed for students to obtain their Bachelor’s degree prior to enrolling in professional programs. Admissions is now available to students for a fall 2022 start date.  

The curriculum is designed to expand student’s knowledge of health-related fields and prepare them to serve diverse populations. Coursework focuses on areas including health literacy and patient advocacy, legal and ethical implications, environmental and cultural influences on health and trauma informed care.

As they progress throughout the program option, students will select a concentration in Gerontology, Human Services, Public Health, Women’s Health or Healthcare Business. Each concentration is designed to increase their knowledge within a specific area and help set them apart from other professional school applicants. Students who complete the program option can choose from degree plans designed to prepare them for various professional progams: 


  • Medical
  • Dental
  • Pharmacy
  • Physician Assistant
  • Physical Therapy 
  • Occupation Therapy 

Depending on the student’s plans following the completion of their Bachelor’s degree, the curriculum plan will be tailored to prepare them for entrance into a medical, dental, pharmacy, physical therapy, occupational therapy or physician’s assistant health program. Students can also take advantage of the Clarkson College Advantage program where they will meet regularly with advisors and peers to determine the health care path that is right for them.
