Clarkson College has not always been a college. Instead, we began in 1888 as a school of nursing—the first in the state of Nebraska. Over the last 125 years, we've established a new campus, expanded our program offerings and adopted a new name. All the while, we've maintained a commitment to preparing our students to be the best in various realms of health care. College Collaborates with Materialise on First 3D Printing Certificate in the Nation

In 2020, Clarkson College launched the Medical 3D Printing Specialist Certificate option, the first of its kind in the nation. Through a collaboration with Materialise Mimics software, the program option prepares radiologic technologists who are knowledgeable and proficient in the 3D printing process.

There is now more demand than ever in the health care field for trained 3D printing specialists who can help deliver improved diagnostic capabilities to patients, and the Clarkon College certificate option helps meet this need. “As the first certificate-based program for 3D printing in health care, the institution is paving the way for the future of 3D printing in medicine by addressing the most important part—the people who carry it forward,” says Gabe Linke R.T. (R) (MR) (ARRT), a faculty member in the Medical 3D Printing Certificate program option.
